Big Lots’ Big Rewards program appears to no longer exist. Its dedicated URL returns a page-not-found error, and the current Big Lots homepage carries no trace of any loyalty program at all, just an email newsletter signup.
What Big Lots Is
Big Lots is a discount retailer selling closeout and overstock merchandise across furniture, home goods, food, and general merchandise categories, historically known for deep, rotating discounts on excess inventory from other retailers and manufacturers.
What Was Actually Checked
Big Lots’ own Big Rewards program URL, biglots.com/bigrewards, returns a page-not-found error, reading verbatim: “OOPS! THAT PAGE CAN’T BE FOUND.” The current Big Lots homepage has zero mention of Big Rewards or any loyalty program anywhere on it, offering only a plain email newsletter signup for ad access and early deal notifications.
Why This Is a Going-Concern Question, Not Just a Rewards Question
Big Lots’ corporate history matters here more than it does for most merchants on this site. The original Big Lots entity filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2024, sold roughly 200 to 400 stores to Variety Wholesalers in a broker-arranged deal, and the remaining corporate entity converted to a full Chapter 7 liquidation in November 2025. Variety Wholesalers continues operating stores under the Big Lots name (217 locations as of mid-2026), so the brand and physical stores still exist, but the loyalty program specifically shows no trace on the current, Variety-operated site.
No Cashback Route Either
Fluz’s only listing for Big Lots is its generic 1.5% virtual-card rate, which doesn’t count as a real route under this site’s standard. TopCashback’s Big Lots link redirects to a generic “Big Box Brands” category page rather than a dedicated listing, and Price.com has no listing for Big Lots at all.
Eligibility and Cost
There’s no active loyalty program to join or pay for, based on everything found on the current live site.
Q&A
Q: Does Big Lots have a birthday discount?
A: No, and its Big Rewards loyalty program itself appears to no longer exist on the current site.
Q: Are Big Lots stores still open?
A: Yes, Variety Wholesalers acquired and continues operating a portion of the stores under the Big Lots name after the original company’s 2024-2025 bankruptcy process.
Q: Is there a cashback route instead?
A: No genuine one. Fluz only lists the generic 1.5% card, TopCashback redirects to a generic category page rather than a real Big Lots listing, and Price.com doesn’t list it at all.
Q: What happened to Big Lots financially?
A: The original entity filed Chapter 11 in September 2024, sold most stores to Variety Wholesalers, and the remaining corporate shell converted to Chapter 7 liquidation in November 2025.
Q: Should I expect this page to change if Big Lots relaunches a rewards program?
A: Possibly. This reflects what the current site shows; a future relaunch under new ownership could change that, and this post would need rechecking if so.
Q: What does Big Lots sell?
A: Closeout and overstock merchandise across furniture, home goods, food, and general categories.
