Kohl’s gives Rewards members a real birthday gift, and the condition is easy to miss because it sits on a different page than the terms document. You need a purchase before your birthday month begins.
What Kohl’s Is
Kohl’s is a department store chain selling clothing, home goods, and other general merchandise, known for its Kohl’s Cash promotions and its Rewards loyalty program.
How To Get The Kohl’s Birthday Deal
To get it, join Kohl’s Rewards (free tier) and make any purchase before your birthday month starts. No purchase before that window means no gift, per Kohl’s own benefits comparison table.
What Was Actually Checked, And Where The Real Page Was
The commonly cited terms-and-conditions URL for Kohl’s Rewards is a real, nearly 47,000-character page, but it has zero mentions of a birthday benefit anywhere in it. The actual benefit lives on a separate benefits-comparison table page instead, which states plainly: “A special birthday gift. Just make any purchase prior to your birthday month!” The same table confirms the free Rewards tier and the Rewards+Card tier both show “Yes” for this row, while having no Kohl’s account at all shows “No.”
Why Checking The Wrong Page Would Have Missed This Entirely
A birthday benefit that’s real and confirmed can still look absent if you only check the legal terms document, since Kohl’s splits this information across two different pages. This is exactly the kind of gap that produces a false “no” verdict when only one source gets checked.
Eligibility and Cost
The free Kohl’s Rewards tier costs nothing to join. The Rewards+Card tier (Kohl’s own credit card) also qualifies for the birthday gift, so you don’t need the card specifically to get this one, unlike Kroger’s credit-card-gated reward.
Eligibility and Cost
The free Kohl’s Rewards tier costs nothing to join. The Rewards+Card tier is Kohl’s own store credit card, which carries standard credit approval requirements but is not required for this specific benefit.

Compare This To
Unlike Kroger, whose real birthday reward requires a specific credit card, Kohl’s works with the free Rewards tier as long as you’ve made a purchase first.
