You spot a cruise line running a sale called “Birthday Savings” or “Half Birthday Celebration” and assume it means something for your actual birthday. It doesn’t. Royal Caribbean and Carnival both use “birthday” as a promotional sale name that has nothing to do with when you were born.

No program, real cashback instead
Royal Caribbean: no birthday benefit in Crown & Anchor Society, and its “Half Birthday Celebration” and “Birthday Savings Worth Sharing” promotions are just sale names, not tied to your actual birthday. A genuine 10% Fluz cashback rate exists instead.
Carnival: no birthday benefit in the newly renamed Carnival Rewards, and a similarly named past promotion worked the same way, a sale name with no real birthday requirement. A genuine 11% Fluz cashback rate exists instead.
Disney Cruise Line: no birthday benefit in Castaway Club. Onboard birthday celebrations are real but are paid purchases. A genuine 4% Fluz cashback rate exists instead.
Princess Cruises: no birthday benefit in Captain’s Circle. Real cashback exists on two partners instead, 8% through Fluz and 3% through TopCashback.
Nothing at all
Norwegian Cruise Line: no birthday benefit anywhere in Latitudes Rewards, and no cashback route either, the only cruise line checked with neither.
