Chili’s gives My Chili’s Rewards members a free birthday dessert, and the rewards page promises it whole: “No sharing required.” It expires 10 days after it’s issued, and the terms require a purchase of at least $5 and a U.S. address.
What Chili’s Is
Wikipedia calls Chili’s “an American casual dining restaurant chain” that Larry Lavine founded in Texas in 1975 and Brinker International now owns and operates. The rewards program is called My Chili’s Rewards, and it’s the only door to the birthday dessert.
How To Get The Chili’s Birthday Deal
The rewards page lists it under the heading “FREE BIRTHDAY DESSERT”: “Your special day comes with a sweet treat on us. No sharing required.” To join, “Sign up on the Chili’s mobile app or visit us at www.chilis.com/register. If you’re in a participating Chili’s, you can join using the tabletop device.” Rewards reach you where you already look: “When you get a reward – via the app, email or text – it’s already in your My Chili’s account.”
The Terms Behind The Dessert
The program terms spell out what joining gets you: “By joining the Program, you will receive (1) free chips and salsa with every visit; and (2) a free dessert on your birthday (each, a “Benefit”). Benefits are only available at participating locations and require spend of at least Five U.S. Dollars ($5.00) on food or beverage (excluding taxes, tips, or donations).” On timing, the rewards page footnote says “Expires 10 days after issue.” The terms add that “A Benefit may not be redeemed in the same transaction in which it was issued or earned,” so the dessert is for a visit after it shows up in your account.
Who Can Join
The terms say you may enroll if “You are a legal resident of one of the fifty (50) United States” and “You are at least 18 years of age (or the applicable age of majority) at the time of enrollment,” with “an active e-mail address” and “an active telephone number.” The benefits “are valid only at participating Chili’s located in the U.S. and shall not be valid at any Chili’s restaurant outside the U.S.”
What The Old Post Claimed
An earlier version of this post promised discounted burgers and quesadillas, specially decorated cakes, a valid ID at the table and a deal open to anyone regardless of age. Neither the rewards page nor the terms mentions any of it. The birthday benefit is the dessert, the program is for people 18 or older, and no ID rule appears on either page.
What Isn’t Spelled Out
The pages don’t say how many days before your birthday the dessert is issued, whether your birthday has to be on file by a certain date, or what the dessert is. The rewards page puts its $5 asterisk on the free chips and salsa only, while the terms apply the $5 minimum to both benefits, so plan on the terms’ wording.
What Was Actually Checked
Chili’s rewards page and the registration terms and conditions were read on 2026-10-08, along with Wikipedia. The terms page says “This Agreement was last modified on July 17, 2026.” Both Chili’s pages loaded on a plain fetch, and no page gives a party-size rule.
Eligibility and Cost
My Chili’s Rewards is free. The dessert needs at least $5 spent on food or beverage, a U.S. resident aged 18 or older with an email and a phone number, and a visit before the 10 days run out.
