H-E-B’s free rewards account has no birthday benefit. The paid Favor Gold delivery subscription does. That’s a real, if unusual, gate for a grocery chain in this category.
What H-E-B Is
H-E-B is a supermarket chain based in Texas, privately held and known for its regional loyalty among Texas shoppers, its own private-label products, and its Favor delivery service.
How To Get The H-E-B Birthday Deal
To get it, subscribe to Favor Gold, H-E-B’s paid delivery membership, currently priced at $9.99 a month. A free H-E-B account alone does not include this benefit.
What Was Actually Checked
H-E-B’s own site redirects its Favor Gold information to Favor’s subscription terms page, whose benefits list includes: “Birthday rewards, including order credit or exclusive offers, valid your birthday month.” That benefit sits explicitly under the paid subscription’s feature list, not under any free H-E-B rewards account. The exact dollar value of the order credit isn’t broken out in what’s published; it’s described as “order credit or exclusive offers” generally.
Why This Is A Real Gate, Not A Loophole
This is the same shape as Fenty Beauty on the beauty side of this site: a real, confirmed benefit that requires paying into a specific membership tier rather than simply having an account. A shopper who only has a free H-E-B account, however loyal, gets nothing extra on their birthday. Only Favor Gold subscribers see this benefit.
Eligibility and Cost
Favor Gold currently costs $9.99 a month. A free H-E-B account carries no fee but also carries no birthday benefit of any kind.
Eligibility and Cost
A free H-E-B account has no fee and no birthday benefit. Favor Gold, the paid tier that does include one, costs $9.99 a month as of this check and includes delivery-focused perks beyond the birthday benefit.
