IHG One Rewards has no standing birthday benefit. Its complete Membership Terms and Conditions were read in full, and a birthday-points offer turned out to be a periodic promotion, not something the program’s own rules guarantee.
What IHG Is
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) operates hotel brands including Holiday Inn, InterContinental, and Crowne Plaza, under its IHG One Rewards loyalty program. It is headquartered in the United Kingdom and operates thousands of hotels worldwide.
What Was Actually Checked
IHG One Rewards’ Membership Terms and Conditions, covering General Terms, Membership Levels, and Elite tier content, were read in full. Zero mentions of “birthday” appear anywhere in the governing document.
The Birthday Bonus Claim Is Real, Just Not a Program Rule
A third-party report describes an invite-only “IHG One Rewards Birthday Bonus”: 3,000 bonus points on one qualifying weekend stay within 90 days of registering, explicitly not counted toward elite status. That’s real as a periodic marketing promotion, but it doesn’t appear anywhere in IHG’s own binding membership terms, which makes it something that comes and goes rather than a standing benefit every member can count on receiving.
Eligibility and Cost
IHG One Rewards is free to join. Nothing in its stated terms ties a standing benefit to a member’s birthday.
The Real Route: A Strong Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback confirms a real 12% cashback rate at IHG, one of the higher rates found anywhere in this project. Fluz doesn’t carry a listing under the IHG name itself, though its Holiday Inn listing shows only the generic 1.5% card, which doesn’t count as a real merchant-specific route.
