TJ Maxx doesn’t have a birthday offer, and its email sign-up form doesn’t ask for your birthday. The closest things to a welcome perk are a free shipping code for new email subscribers and, for the TJX Rewards credit card, “enjoy 10% off your first purchase.”
What TJ Maxx Is
Wikipedia calls it “an American discount department store chain. It has more than 1,000 stores in the United States.” A description on TopCashback’s TJ Maxx page says the store sells brand-name and designer fashions at “prices generally 20%-60% below department and specialty store regular prices, on comparable merchandise.”
What The Email List Gives You
The sign-up page says “Join the TJ Maxx e-list” and promises “exclusive offers, early access, style tips and more.” The form asks for a first name, last name, email address and zip code. A footnote says the offer “Applies to new email subscribers only” and that “The one-time use free shipping code will be delivered to your email address.” A site banner offers free shipping on orders of $89 or more with a code, and the footnote doesn’t say whether the emailed code has the same minimum. There’s no birthday box on the form.
What The TJX Rewards Card Gives You
The only loyalty program the pages describe is a credit card. The TJX Rewards credit card page lists “no annual fee” and says cardmembers “earn 5% back in Rewards every time you shop our family of stores.” Points turn into money in chunks: “Every 1000 Points earns you a $10 Rewards Certificate.” At 5 points a dollar, that’s a $10 certificate for every $200 you spend. A Mastercard version also lists 2% back “on gas, grocery store, and restaurant purchases” and 1% “everywhere else Mastercard is accepted.” The card page adds “enjoy 10% off your first purchase,” and the FAQ says purchases are “subject to credit approval.” The interest rate sits on a separate page the card page labels “See rates and fees,” and we didn’t read that one. Certificates “can be redeemed in-store across our family of stores or online” at tjmaxx.com, marshalls.com or sierra.com.
What The Old Post Claimed
An earlier version of this post said TJ Maxx has no birthday discount, and the pages we read agree. It then described a cashback route in the Fluz app: search for TJ Maxx, finish your purchase there, and the cashback shows up right away. Fluz’s TJ Maxx page describes something different: you buy a TJ Maxx gift card on Fluz and pay with the card. Nothing on that page says how quickly the cashback posts.
The Real Route: 6% Cashback On TJ Maxx Gift Cards
Fluz’s TJ Maxx page says “Buy a gift card to earn 6% cashback at TJ Maxx.” The e-gift cards run from $10 to $500 and are “redeemable in-store and online.” The gift card terms Fluz reprints say the card “has no expiration date and incurs no dormancy fees” and that it works at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Homesense and Sierra, in stores and on their websites, for “merchandise only.” TopCashback’s TJ Maxx page shows no TJ Maxx rate, only the general line “Get money back every time you shop with over 7,000 merchants,” and Price.com returned a not-found page for TJ Maxx. Rates move, so check the number the day you order.
What Was Actually Checked
TJ Maxx’s TJX Rewards credit card page, Rewards FAQ, Digital Rewards Certificates FAQ, email sign-up page and email preferences page were read in a browser on 2026-10-12, because plain requests came back with “Access Denied.” Synchrony Bank’s TJX card page, Wikipedia, Fluz, TopCashback and Price.com were read the same day. None of the pages mentions a birthday benefit, and none carries a date beyond a 2026 copyright line. The TJ Maxx home page didn’t load for us, so we didn’t use it.
Eligibility and Cost
The shipping code is for new subscribers only. The TJX Rewards card has no annual fee, and the FAQ says it’s subject to credit approval and issued by Synchrony Bank.
