Mint Mobile has no birthday reward for you. The only birthday on its pages is its own: a blog post celebrating the company’s third birthday with a social media contest. No cashback route turned up either.
What Mint Mobile Is
Mint’s own timeline reads “August 2016 Mint Mobile launched,” and it lists “November 2019 Famed Canadian Ryan Reynolds is announced as our new owner.” That’s no longer the ownership story. T-Mobile announced on March 15, 2023 that it would buy Mint’s parent company, Ka’ena, paying “up to a maximum of $1.35 billion in a combination of 39% cash and 61% stock.” The deal closed on May 1, 2024, and T-Mobile’s announcement that day said “Mint Mobile will continue to have a $15/month plan available for new and existing customers.” Mint is a T-Mobile brand now, and its about page says it began with “reliable coverage on the T-Mobile network.”
Mint sells online only: “We don’t have retail stores, and we don’t have salespeople.” Plans come in 3, 6 and 12-month terms, and the September 28 home page showed $45 upfront for 3 months, $90 for 6 or $180 for 12, each equal to $15 a month and described as a new-customer offer for the initial term only.
What Was Actually Checked
Mint’s live website returned an access-denied error to every tool used here, so its pages were read as archived copies, most saved in September 2026. Those covered the home page, about page, why-Mint page, help center, press page, refer-a-friend page, referral terms and plan terms, and the word “birth” appears on none of them. Whether Mint’s checkout asks for a birthday wasn’t checked, since that would mean opening a purchase flow.
The Birthday That Belongs to Mint
Mint’s blog has a post reading “Thanks for celebrating our 3rd birthday with us by sharing your most #ThatsNotRight birthday gifts!” It was originally published August 13, 2019 and last updated November 2, 2022. It’s Mint celebrating its own anniversary with a social media contest, and it doesn’t give anything to a customer on their birthday.
The Referral Credit, and a Number That Doesn’t Add Up
What Mint does offer is a referral credit. Its refer-a-friend page says “REFER A FRIEND, GET $45” and that you’ll receive the credit “about 2 weeks after your friend activates their plan.” Your friend gets $15. The page also says “A credit is a renewal credit that can only be used when you renew your plan,” and “You can earn up to four (4) referral credits per year.”
The referral terms page, which reads “Updated: August 5th, 2024,” says “There is a maximum of four (4) referrals per Advocate per calendar year (i.e., January 1st to December 31st), with a maximum of $600 in account credits each year.” Four credits of $45 come to $180, not $600, so the two pages don’t agree on the ceiling. Go with the marketing page’s four credits and treat the terms page’s $600 as an unexplained figure.
No Real Cashback Route Found
Fluz lists Mint Mobile at its general 1.5% store rate and nothing more. TopCashback has a Mint Mobile page, but it shows no rate, only its general line about getting money back with over 7,000 merchants. Price.com says “Cash back is not currently available for this store.” There’s no merchant-specific cashback offer to point to.
Eligibility and Cost
There’s nothing to join for a birthday perk, because there isn’t one. Mint’s navigation lists Kids Plans and 55+ Plans, but their terms weren’t read, so nothing is claimed about them here.

T-Mobile, Mint’s owner, is the one carrier here with a birthday line on its own pages, though it never says what the perk is. Google Fi Wireless also has a “birthday” that turns out to be the company’s own.
