In the United Kingdom, YO! Sushi’s birthday club page says “simply fill out the form below to let us know your date of birth and we’ll make sure to send you a special treat for your big day.” It’s a UK offer for UK restaurants, and the page never says what the treat is.
What YO! Sushi Is
Wikipedia calls YO! Sushi “a chain of kiosks and conveyor belt sushi restaurants, principally in the United Kingdom,” with more in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Australia. The terms below apply to “all UK YO! restaurants,” so this post is for readers in Britain or heading there.
How To Get The YO! Sushi Birthday Deal
The birthday club page has a short form asking for your first name, email and date of birth, with the note “you must be at least 16 to participate.” Submitting it signs you up for marketing email. The Love Club FAQ gives the deadline: “To qualify for the birthday offer, you must be opted in to the Love Club and let us know your birthday at least four weeks in advance in order to qualify for a birthday promotion in the same calendar year.” So the form needs to be filled in a month before the birthday.
The Voucher
The terms on the page read: “Birthday voucher is valid for 1 month. Only one birthday voucher can be used once per transaction. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount code.” It “Cannot be exchanged for cash,” and YO! “reserves the right to remove or amend this offer at any time.” The page doesn’t say how much the voucher is worth or what it covers, only that it’s “a special treat.”
Which Restaurants Take It
The voucher is “applicable to use in all UK YO! restaurants” with a list of exceptions: Aberdeen, Ashford, Belfast, Birmingham Grand Central, Cheltenham, Exeter, Glasgow Braehead, Kingston, Leeds Trinity, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, and the Southampton WestQuay and Airport locations. If your closest YO! is on that list, the voucher won’t work there.
The Free Plate Is A Different Perk
The Love Club page promises “a complimentary free coloured plate” to everyone who signs up, with a unique code emailed “within 24 hours of signing up” that “can be used in UK YO! restaurants only.” That plate is the welcome gift. The birthday treat is a separate offer. The loyalty stamp card is on hold: “We’ve paused our loyalty programme while we work behind the scenes on something bigger and better.”
What The Old Post Claimed
An earlier version of this post said the birthday offer was a free plate of sushi and that the club to join was the Blue Light Card program. Neither the birthday club page nor the Love Club page names a free plate as the birthday gift or mentions Blue Light Card. The email voucher and the one-month window match.
What Was Actually Checked
YO! Sushi’s birthday club page, Love Club page, rewards page, rewards terms and Wikipedia were read on 2026-10-08. None of the pages is dated. They don’t state the voucher’s value, so that stays a question for the restaurant.
Eligibility and Cost
The birthday club is free, with an age rule of 16 or older, and it’s for UK restaurants only. The voucher expires one month after it’s issued.
