You check Whataburger’s app for a birthday reward, and it wants you to log in before it’ll tell you anything. Seven other fast food and casual chains just tell you outright, no login wall required.

These seven have a real, confirmed birthday reward
Burger King: a free select menu item on your birthday, plus double points the whole month, read directly from the Royal Perks legal terms. One sharp edge: your birthday can only be edited once after you enter it.
Taco Bell: appears about 7 days before your birthday and stays valid 14 days, but only if you’ve already placed at least one order.
Torchy’s Tacos: free queso, advertised directly on the brand’s own rewards page rather than buried in legal terms. Join about 2 weeks ahead.
The Habit Burger Grill: arrives about a week before your birthday, no purchase required, one of the lowest-friction rewards in this batch.
LongHorn Steakhouse and Capital Grille: both run the same Darden eClub structure. Sign up before your birthday month begins; Capital Grille’s reported reward is a roughly $25 dining credit, dine-in only.
Morton’s The Steakhouse: a reported $25 standard reward through Landry’s Select Club, rising to $100 for members at the President’s Club tier, one of the widest tier gaps found in this project.
Whataburger is the one nobody can actually confirm
Whataburger‘s birthday reward is described as a choice of four items. It’s also the one entry in this batch that couldn’t be verified: the official rewards terms sit behind a sign-in wall, and no public legal document was found despite multiple attempts. A described reward isn’t the same as a confirmed one, and that gap is worth knowing before you plan a visit around a specific item.
The pattern worth naming
Most of the confirmed rewards above rest on strong third-party agreement rather than a directly quotable legal document, the same gap found across all three Darden brands and Landry’s Select Club. Only Burger King’s terms were fully readable first-party. That’s not a reason to distrust the others, chains that gate loyalty terms behind an account login are common in this category, it’s a reason to be precise about which claims come from where.
