Your birthday is coming up. Here’s what to join, and when.
Most birthday restaurant deals require you to sign up for a rewards program before your birthday, not on the day itself. Miss the window and you wait a full year. This list is sorted by how much lead time each one actually needs, and sourced from each restaurant’s own current terms.
Sign up today. No advance notice needed.
Krispy Kreme: a reward posted on the birthday already saved in your account, no advance-notice requirement anywhere in the FAQ. Valid 30 days from issue.
Papa John’s: notified the day of, good for 14 days after.
Chipotle: a choice of chips, guac, queso, or a drink, any time during your birthday month.
Dutch Bros: any drink up to 32oz. Download the app on your actual birthday and the reward lands the next day.
Auntie Anne’s: the only requirement is one purchase in the prior year to stay active.
Give it about a week.
Starbucks: one free drink or food item. Requires joining Rewards at least 7 days before your birthday.
IHOP: five PanCoins, enough for a full stack outright. Register at least 7 days before.
Cold Stone Creamery: a reward loaded 7 days before your birthday, valid through 7 days after. The widest flat window sourced this month.
Nothing Bundt Cakes: a free Bundtlet, email arrives about a week before.
Shake Shack: a free shake, birthday must be in the app 24 hours before the system updates.
Firehouse Subs: a free medium sub. Members who joined before January 2024 need a purchase at least 7 days ahead.
Baskin-Robbins: added automatically once your profile is complete. One account holder gets the whole family’s coupons.
Give it a month, or plan around the calendar.
Cracker Barrel: a free dessert, but your birthdate has to be on file before the first of your birthday month.
Crumbl: a free cookie, but only at Silver tier, reached at roughly $50 spent in a year. Bronze gets nothing.
From the parts of the internet with a shorter memory
Dunkin’: 3x points all day, not a free drink.
Dairy Queen: a special offer after one $1+ order in the 45 days before your birthday. The birthday field can’t be edited once entered.
Subway and Jamba Juice: both confirmed real on marketing pages, both with zero detail anywhere in the actual legal terms.
More from restaurants already covered here
Benihana, Chili’s, Golden Corral, Applebee’s, Ruth’s Chris, Yo! Sushi, Yogurtland, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and Toby Carvery all have real birthday rewards with their own posts on this site.
The famous birthday freebies that aren’t (or aren’t anymore)
Red Robin: the free birthday burger is being retired for adults in 2026. A Kids’ Birthday Offer survives.
Denny’s: no birthday reward in the actual terms, just a rotating offer that can be pulled at any time. No cashback route covers it either.
Outback Steakhouse: nothing in the loyalty program, but a real 7.5% cashback route through Fluz.
Buffalo Wild Wings: same shape: nothing in Blazin’ Rewards, 8% cashback through Fluz instead.
Five Guys: says so itself: no birthday program, but an 8% Fluz cashback route exists.
Milk Bar: a genuine no. No program, no real cashback route either.
Panda Express: the birthday gift requires a purchase first. A discount, not a freebie.
