Talbots and J.Jill both advertise a birthday discount, and both attach a condition to it. At Talbots, free Classic Awards Loyalty members get 10% off for one full day of their birthday month and cardholders get 15%, but you need to have used your Loyalty or card number at least once in the past 24 months. At J.Jill the discount is 20% off for the whole month, and only on the J.Jill Credit Card. Open that card during your birthday month and the offer waits until next year. Both were checked on October 13, 2026, against each brand’s own pages. Terms change, so check the brand’s page before you go.

Talbots: 10% off for one full day in your birthday month for Classic Awards Loyalty members, and 15% for people who pay with a Talbots credit card or Talbots World Mastercard. Loyalty isn’t a credit card, and all Talbots asks for is your birth month. Loyalty members get the offer by email once they opt in to electronic communications, and cardholders get a birthday card in the mail. The terms don’t say which day of the month it covers, you can use it once in any twelve-month period, and you need to have used your Loyalty or card number at least once in the past 24 months. The 15% also needs credit approval and an account in good standing. The pages don’t say whether signing up counts as that use, so a purchase with your Loyalty number before your birthday month is the sure way to be covered.
With the store credit card only
J.Jill: 20% off a purchase made during your birthday month, for J.Jill Credit Card holders only. The card page says the offer includes the everyday 5% card discount, which reads as part of the 20%, not on top of it. Card offers are subject to credit approval, and J.Jill needs a valid email address and U.S. mailing address on file. Open the card before your birthday month: the footnote says an account opened in your birthday month gets the offer the following year. The pages don’t say whether the offer arrives by email or by mail, or what it leaves out. If you’d rather skip the card, J.Jill’s email sign-up offers $20 off a first order of $80 or more.
