Amazon has no birthday reward for you. Its Birthday Gift List is a wish list your friends can shop from, not something Amazon gives you. The one real money-back route is Fluz, which lists Amazon gift cards with 3% cashback.
What Amazon Is
Wikipedia’s Amazon article says the company was founded on July 5, 1994, as “Cadabra” by Jeff Bezos, that its headquarters are in Seattle, Washington, and Arlington County, Virginia, and that it went public in May 1997. Amazon’s About page says the company employs “more than 1.5 million talented people” and gives its mission: “Amazon’s mission is to make customers’ lives better and easier every day by relentlessly inventing on their behalf.”
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
Fluz’s Amazon page reads “Amazon gift cards with 3% cashback.” It’s a gift-card route: you buy the card through Fluz, then spend it at Amazon. The other two portals don’t offer a general rate. Price.com’s Amazon page says “Cash back and coupons are not currently available for Amazon.” TopCashback’s Amazon page is titled “Amazon Devices Offers, Cash Back, Discounts & Coupons” and shows no headline rate. A separate TopCashback Amazon Subscriptions page reads “Get up to $15 of the price back with our Amazon Subscriptions Cash Back offers,” a flat bonus for subscription products only. Rates move, so check Fluz before you buy.
The Birthday Gift List Is a Wish List
Amazon does have a page with birthday in the name. The Birthday Gift List page says “Make your birthday extra special – and gift-giving easy – by creating a Gift List of gift ideas to share with family and friends.” It lists selection, sharing, a thank-you list and returns: “Gift not quite right? It can be returned within 90 days.” All of that helps the people shopping for you. Nothing on the page gives you a discount or a credit for having a birthday.
No Prime Birthday Credit
There’s no Prime birthday credit. Amazon’s Prime benefits page describes shipping perks, its fee page lists plans and prices, and neither mentions a birthday. If a Prime birthday promise ever reaches you, check it against Amazon’s own Prime pages first.
What Was Actually Checked
Amazon’s Prime benefits help page, Prime fee page, Birthday Gift List page, send-a-gift help page and About page were read. The sign-in page shows “Sign in or create account” and “Enter mobile number or email” as its first step. No account was created, so whether later screens ask for a birthday wasn’t confirmed.
Eligibility and Cost
Amazon’s fee page lists Prime at “$14.99 per month” or “$139 per year,” Prime Video at “$8.99 per month,” a Young Adult plan at “$7.49 per month” or “$69 per year,” and Prime Access at “$6.99 per month.” Amazon also owns Woot, and its help page says “Prime members get free Standard Shipping on all Woot orders and free express shipping on Shirt.Woot purchases.”
