You’re either asking for a camera for your birthday or hoping your birthday pays for one. Nine camera makers and camera shops were checked against their own pages, forms and terms, and none has a birthday reward. The closest thing is a one-time 25-point bonus at Adorama for entering your date of birth. The savings that do exist are smaller and they don’t depend on the calendar.

The closest thing to a birthday perk
Adorama: no birthday reward, but a one-time 25-point bonus for entering your date of birth, which pays once and never again and, at Adorama’s rate of 500 points for $5, comes to about 25 cents. The real saving is 4% cashback through TopCashback or 2% through Price.com.
Discounts that don’t depend on your birthday
Polaroid: its free membership is worth joining before you buy. The perks on its home page are 10% off a first order and 30% off accessories all year. No cashback rate turned up on any of the three portals.
KEH Camera: its account form doesn’t ask for your birthday. It does give 5% off a first order for signing up to the newsletter, a 5% military discount on pre-owned gear and a free 180-day warranty on its gear.
GoPro: the real discounts are a paid subscription that takes up to 50% off accessories and a 5% ID.me offer for specific groups. No GoPro-specific cashback rate turned up.
Nikon: six pages on Nikon’s US site were read and none mention a birthday. The only discount that turned up is a 10% ID.me offer for specific groups, and there’s no cashback rate on the three portals.
Canon: its email signup asks only for a name and an email address. The perk that does exist is 10% off a Canon Upgrade Program product after a repair estimate. Real cashback is up to 2.5% through TopCashback or up to 1.3% through Price.com.
Where the fine print matters
B&H Photo: its rewards points are real but they expire in 6 months, and the credit card that pays back sales tax carries a 35.99% purchase APR. No cashback rate turned up.
DJI: the birthday surprise it once had came with a paid membership that’s gone. The 8% cashback rate that appears for DJI on TopCashback belongs to a reseller, not DJI’s own store. What DJI does offer is 1% back as store credit.
Fujifilm: its US account form has no birthday field, and the promotions page for its X Series store lists a single education purchase deal. The one Price.com listing that shows 6% is for a non-US store.
