Disneyland gives you a free birthday button, and that’s the whole offer. Pick it up at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park. You need a valid park ticket to get one, and no page read lists a birthday discount, a free ticket or a coupon code.
What Disneyland Is
Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California is two theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, plus hotels and the Downtown Disney District. Its own birthday page describes the setting this way: “Whether you’re enjoying classic fun inside Disneyland Park, experiencing all the thrills Disney California Adventure Park has to offer or staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, be sure to book a magical dining experience at a favorite restaurant and make this birthday truly unforgettable.”
How To Get The Disneyland Birthday Deal
There’s nothing to sign up for. The resort’s birthday page says: “Get birthday greetings from fellow Guests throughout the day with a magical birthday button.” It adds: “Each button is complimentary on your special day and can be found inside at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park.” The condition sits on its own line right after: “Valid theme park admission is required.”
So the plan is simple: have your ticket, go to City Hall or Guest Services, and ask for the button. The page calls it complimentary “on your special day,” so plan the visit for the day itself.
What The Birthday Page Sells Instead
Everything else on the page costs money. It lists Birthday Dining, with the line “Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be booked online up to 60 days prior to your visit.” It lists In-Room Celebrations: “Customize a celebratory surprise and have it waiting… right inside your Disneyland Resort hotel room!” It also points to Celebration Cakes, Disney Gift Cards and a Disney Meetings and Events request form for bigger parties. None of those is a discount, and the page prints no prices for them.
What The Magic Key Pages Say
Magic Key is the resort’s annual pass. Its Discounts page lists “Up to 20% off select merchandise” and “Up to 15% off select dining,” based on your pass type, and the word birthday doesn’t appear on that page, the Magic Key home page or the extras page. One line on the extras page can mislead if you skim it: “Starting September 15, 2026, Magic Key holders can pick up a specially created Disneylandia commemorative button.” That’s a commemorative button for pass holders, not a birthday one.
The Disneyland Club Code That Isn’t There
An earlier version of this post said to join a Disneyland Club, enter your birthdate, and get a discount code by email in your birthday month. The club’s address on Disneyland’s site returned a “Someone Ate the Page!” error, and none of the Disneyland pages read mention a club, a birthdate field or a birthday code. If an email arrives from Disney with a birthday offer, treat what it says as the rule, but nothing on the resort’s pages promises one.
What Was Actually Checked
The resort’s birthday page, events and tours page, guest services page, Magic Key home, extras and discounts pages and the City Hall page were read on 2026-10-07. WebFetch returned an empty page for the Magic Key extras page, so that one was read through a plain page fetch, and the rest loaded either way. The City Hall address and the Disneyland Club address returned page-not-found errors. The word birthday appears on the birthday page and nowhere on the Magic Key, discounts or guest services pages.
Eligibility and Cost
The button is free, but the park ticket isn’t, and the page says plainly that valid theme park admission is required. It doesn’t name an age limit, a proof-of-birthday check or a limit of one button per person, so don’t plan around any of those. Because the offer lives inside the parks, it also isn’t something you can claim from home.
