Gizmogo lists no birthday reward on any page read for this post, and it buys devices instead of selling them, so the details that matter are a 15-day quote, a payout clock that its own pages start at two different moments, and cashback rates of 8% and 4% that don’t say what they’re calculated on. If an old phone, laptop or camera is being sold to help pay for something on your birthday list, the shipping and risk terms below are the ones to read before you seal the box.
What Gizmogo Is
The shipping policy names the company as “UC Technology, Inc. d/b/a Gizmogo.” Its About page says “Since opening our doors in 2020,” Gizmogo’s aim has been to reduce e-waste, and that “We repair and refurbish old devices, then resell them.” The home page lets you choose from phones, tablets, laptops, Macs, game consoles, cameras, lenses, drones, smartwatches and more. The FAQ says “There’s no limit” on how many devices you can sell, and that 10 or more devices can go through a Bulk Sale form. The FAQ gives a drop-off location in Chino, California, for items that can’t be shipped, and it names “CRTs, televisions, office equipment, and household appliances” as examples.
From Quote to Payout: Where the Clocks Start
Getting a quote needs no account: “Select your device, answer a few questions about its model and condition, and we’ll generate an instant offer.” The home page says “Your instant quote is locked in for 15 days while you decide.” The FAQ adds the condition: the quote holds “as long as the device matches the condition you selected.” Then comes inspection. “Final pricing is confirmed after we inspect your device. If the condition differs from your description, we’ll send a revised offer.”
The payment promise is stated two ways. The home page says “Get paid within 1 business day,” and the Why Choose page says “After we receive your electronic device, Gizmogo will pay you within 1 business day,” with the note “*Excluding National and Federal holidays.” The FAQ starts the clock later: “Payment is issued within 1 business days after your acceptance of the final offer that is followed after inspection.” It also says “Most devices arrive at our facility within 3-5 business days” and “Inspection typically takes 1-2 business days after we receive it.” Put in order, that’s transit, then inspection, then your acceptance of the final offer, then a payout day. The FAQ adds that “Zelle and PayPal typically clear within one business day of us issuing payment.”
The payout methods differ between pages too. The FAQ says “We pay via Zelle, PayPal, e-check, check, or an Amazon gift card.” The Why Choose page lists Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, check, e-check and an Amazon gift card. The home page promises “real cash, not credits,” and an Amazon gift card is on both lists, so choose a cash method at checkout and check that yours is offered.
Shipping, and Who Carries the Box
The FAQ says “Once you accept your quote, we email you a prepaid shipping label. You pay nothing.” You don’t need the original box. “You can ship your device in any sturdy box with adequate padding.” The Why Choose page says free USPS, FedEx and UPS shipping, and the shipping policy, last updated March 13, 2026, says “Gizmogo provides prepaid ground shipping labels.”
The shipping policy is where the risk sits. “All shipments are subject to FOB (Free on Board) Destination terms. This means that title and risk of loss remain with you until the device is delivered to and accepted by Gizmogo at its designated receiving facility.” If a device is lost or damaged in transit and you haven’t opted for insurance, “Gizmogo assumes no liability for such loss or damage.” Insurance exists, with a floor: “For any device with a quoted value of $500 or more, Gizmogo offers the option to insure the shipment at no cost to the user.” You need the insured label from Gizmogo, and “Failure to request and use the insured label will result in the shipment being treated under standard FOB Destination terms.” For a device quoted under $500, the policy describes no insurance option, so take photos of the packed box and keep the tracking number.
The trip back works differently. If you decline a revised offer, “Returned items will be shipped at no cost via ground shipping and under FOB Shipping Point terms, meaning risk of loss passes to you once the item is transferred to the carrier.” Shipping is free in both directions, and the risk of loss is yours on both trips unless an insured label covers the trip out.
Your Data, and a Device That Gets Flagged
The FAQ says “Every device is professionally wiped using certified data destruction software before it’s resold or recycled,” and that every order includes an erasure report. It also puts the first step on you. “Before shipping, please back up any data you want to keep, sign out of all accounts (including Apple ID/iCloud, Google, and Samsung accounts), disable Find My on Apple devices, and perform a factory reset.” It’s blunt about what follows: “Gizmogo is not responsible for any data left on devices when they arrive,” and “Devices are wiped as soon as they arrive and are ready for inspection. Once wiped, data cannot be recovered.”
A phone that’s reported lost or stolen won’t be bought. “If a device is flagged during inspection, it will not be paid for and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.” The shipping policy asks you to confirm that the device is not “stolen, or obtained through fraud or deception” and is free from liens.
What the Terms Say
The Terms and Conditions, last updated April 16, 2024, say the services “are for the use of United States residents who are eighteen (18) years of age or older only.” Three clauses matter to a seller. On liability: Gizmogo’s liability “will at all times be limited to the valuation or offer price of the items you have offered to sell to Gizmogo, but in no case will Gizmogo’s liability to you exceed $100.” On disputes: they “shall be arbitrated under the Rules of Arbitration of the American Arbitration Association and shall not be submitted to a court of law,” and you can opt out by written notice to the legal address in the terms. On the account: “Gizmogo reserves the absolute right to close your account, terminate this agreement, and cease doing business with you at its sole discretion and for any reason it determines.” The terms also say you must have “deleted or otherwise destroyed any personal and/or private data.”
The $10 Reward and the Ambassador Program
The one reward tied to a code sits on the Brand Ambassador page: “When a new user completes their first order using your referral code, they receive a $10 reward. This reward is given once per user per ambassador code.” Ambassadors themselves earn “10% commission on each completed order made using your referral code,” and “Commission is capped at $60 per order.” The page describes referral codes that ambassadors hand out. It doesn’t say where a first-time seller would find one.
Two other mentions are worth knowing. The Green Giveaway page says “For each buyback transaction Gizmogo completes, 1% of the total goes to the company’s environmental initiatives,” and describes a lottery for customers, and the text read doesn’t list dates, odds or prizes. The About page says clients can “direct their payout to a charity or fundraiser of their choice,” and doesn’t say how. Every page also carries a signup box that reads “Subscribe here to get coupons and promotional information,” and the text read doesn’t say what it sends.
The Real Route: Genuine Cashback Rates (8% at TopCashback, 4% at Price.com)
TopCashback’s Gizmogo page reads “Get 8% of the price back with our Gizmogo Cash Back offers,” and lists the offer as “Online Purchase 8%.” The exclusion it names is “Use of a coupon code not displayed on TopCashback,” and it says “Cash Back is calculated only on the item(s) price and does not include taxes, shipping or other fees.” Gizmogo pays you for a device, so the page doesn’t say what the 8% is calculated on for a sale. It also doesn’t say whether the $10 first-order reward or an ambassador’s code counts under the coupon-code exclusion. Settle both before you ship.
Price.com’s Gizmogo page reads “Earn 4% cash back at Gizmogo,” and describes Gizmogo as “an online electronics buyback service.” Purchases “will typically show in your wallet as pending in 7 days,” and cash back arrives “in approximately 90 days.” Its page has the same gap about what the 4% is calculated on. Fluz’s Gizmogo address returned a 404 page. Rates move, so check the current number before you order.
What Was Actually Checked
Gizmogo’s home page, About page, Why Choose page, FAQ, shipping policy, Terms and Conditions, privacy and SMS policies, Brand Ambassador page and Green Giveaway page were read, along with the TopCashback, Price.com and Fluz pages. The word “birthday” doesn’t appear on any of them. The Bulk Sale form, the recycling page, the custom quote form and the IMEI checker weren’t read, and no quote was requested, so nothing here comes from a test sale. Offer amounts and the customer comments on the home page aren’t repeated, because they’re one seller’s number on one day.
