LG has no birthday reward in the US. MyLG Rewards and its binding terms never mention a birthday. Real birthday coupons exist in Hong Kong and Singapore, and a beauty brand with a similar name gives birthday points, but neither is an LG Electronics perk for a US shopper. A genuine cashback rate is the actual route.
What LG Is
LG’s own About page says “Since 1958, decades of innovation and a principled approach to business have shaped a globally trusted brand,” and traces the company “from Lucky and GoldStar to a global brand.” Its US store on LG.com sells electronics and home appliances.
LG’s US rewards are called MyLG Rewards. Every 100 points is worth $1 toward an eligible product, and members can earn up to 20% back in member-exclusive rewards. There’s also a paid MyLG Ownership Program: Pro is $79.99 a year with 5% back in points and free installation, and Pro Care is $169.99 a year.
What Was Actually Checked
The MyLG Rewards page, its binding terms, the Ownership Program page, the Appreciation Program page, the discount programs page and the privacy policy were read, and none mention a birthday. The terms say the agreement is with LG Electronics USA, Inc., that you must be at least 16 and live in the 50 states or DC, and that “Rewards expire five (5) calendar years after they are earned.” Points appear after the return period, typically 20 to 35 days, and redeem only on LG.com.
LG’s support page shows your profile does store a Birthday field, alongside your name, address and phone number, but nothing rewards you for adding it.
Two Look-Alikes That Aren’t a US LG Perk
LG Beauty’s rewards page says you can “add your birthday to your account to earn points.” That site is run by LG H&H USA, Inc., a different company from LG Electronics USA, Inc., so it isn’t an LG.com perk.
LG’s Hong Kong page offers a 10% Birthday Coupon, valid 30 days, issued once a year, for opt-in members. Singapore offers a 15% Birthday Coupon, valid 31 days, once a year, not stackable, again for opt-in members. LG’s UK, Malaysia, Australia and Philippines membership pages show welcome vouchers and no birthday offer.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback’s LG Electronics page lists the tier as “Online Purchase Improved” at 12%, with exclusions for projectors, air care, vacuums, several appliance categories and the LG Pro memberships. Price.com lists 5.5% and also excludes projectors and Pro memberships. Fluz shows only its generic 1.5% store rate. The 12% tier is labeled “Improved,” which suggests a raised rate that may not last, so check it before you buy.
Eligibility and Cost
MyLG Rewards is free. LG’s Appreciation Program gives discounts to military, first responders, medical staff, teachers, students and government workers, verified through ID.me. The cashback routes need a free TopCashback or Price.com account.
