K1 Speed gives you one free race during the week of your birthday, and it comes bundled with the $8.50 Annual License you need to race there anyway. Show ID, have bought a race package in the last 365 days, and the birthday race is on the house. It’s a free race, not a discount, and it isn’t good for a full month.
What K1 Speed Is
K1 Speed’s own home page calls it “the world’s largest indoor electric go-kart racing company, founded in 2003 in Carlsbad, California.” It lists more than 100 indoor centers across nine countries, and every one has an arcade and a Paddock Lounge restaurant. Adult karts reach 45 mph, and racers need to be at least 48 inches tall for the junior karts or 4 feet 10 inches for the adult ones.
How To Get The K1 Speed Birthday Deal
The perk is listed first under what the Annual License includes: “One FREE BIRTHDAY RACE* during the week of your birthday! (ID required).” The Annual License is required at every K1 Speed center, and the FAQ prices it at “$8.50 at most locations.” The license “is good for one full year from the date of purchase,” so you pay for it once and the birthday race comes back every year while it’s active.
Then the fine print: “Requires a current license and a race package purchase within the previous 365 days.” In practice you buy a race package, and the birthday race is the extra one. K1’s FAQ says first-timers are covered too: “If this is your first-ever visit to a K1 Speed, you can redeem the free birthday race after purchasing our license and a race package.”
The Speedpass Is The Easy Way In
K1’s Speedpass page calls it “our most popular package.” It includes 2 races, the Annual License and a choice of T-shirt, and the page repeats that the license carries a “FREE BIRTHDAY RACE during your birthday week! (ID required).” The page lists one price per location, picked from a drop-down, so this post can’t give you a number for it.
The Week, Not The Month
The FAQ states the window plainly: “The free birthday race may be used within one week of a customer’s birth date, one time per customer per calendar year, and ID is required.” That’s one week around the birthday, not a birthday month, and a staff reply on K1’s license blog backs it up with an example: a boy with a 7/21 birthday who bought a license on 8/8 was told the promotion “is only valid during the week of their birthday, so this would’ve been valid between 7/20 and 7/26.” Plan the visit for the birthday week itself.
ID, Guests And Where It Works
ID is required, and a staff reply on the same blog says “a birth certificate plus a photo ID will work if your ID doesn’t have a birth date on it.” Friends can race with you, but a staff reply says “your race is the only one that is free.” Another says “the K1 Speed birthday race can only be used at K1 Speed, not K1 Circuit,” which is a separate business, and K1’s FAQ adds that a K1 Circuit license can’t be used at K1 Speed. A staff reply to a parent says a child’s ID isn’t needed.
Birthday Parties Are A Separate Thing
K1’s deals page runs “Book a Birthday Party, Get a $100 Game Card!” for new bookings through November 30th, where “your birthday kid will get a $100 arcade game card.” That one is for hosting a party, and the page says to click through for excluded locations. K1’s party page also says the birthday kid gets an award and a turn on the podium.
What The Old Post Got Wrong
An earlier version of this post described a discount on race packages during your birthday month and a K1 Speed Pass Membership that emails you the offer. K1’s pages describe a free race in the birthday week, tied to the Annual License, and no page read describes a birthday-month discount. The program is called the Annual License, and the Speedpass is a package that includes it.
What Was Actually Checked
K1’s home page, deals page, FAQ, Speedpass page, Annual License blog post and kids birthday party page were read on 2026-10-07, along with Wikipedia’s K1 Speed article. All loaded through a plain page fetch, and WebFetch returned only the navigation list for the home page. The license blog post is dated June 14, 2022, but the current FAQ and Speedpass page carry the same terms. The staff replies quoted above come from the blog’s comments, not from a policy page, so they’re examples of how staff answered, not published rules. No page read states where the birthday email arrives or who gets it.
Eligibility and Cost
Anyone who can race can use it: the height minimums are the only entry limit, and the FAQ says there’s no age requirement. You pay for the license ($8.50 at most locations) and for at least one race package. One birthday race per customer per calendar year.
