Belkin credits 100 points to your account on your birthday, which is worth $1 at checkout. It’s small, but it’s a real, stated reward, and it comes with a catch worth knowing: you have to register your birthday at least 30 days ahead. Belkin’s cashback is the bigger prize, at 6% through TopCashback.
What Belkin Is
Wikipedia’s Belkin article says “Belkin International, Inc., is an American consumer electronics company headquartered in El Segundo, California.” It lists wireless chargers, power banks, charging cables, headphones, surge protectors and docking stations among its products, so a birthday dollar goes toward the same charger you were going to buy anyway.
How To Get The Belkin Birthday Deal
To get it, add your birthday to your Belkin.com account. Belkin’s rewards FAQ says: “Add your birthday under Ways to earn points at www.belkin.com/belkin-rewards.html. Then on your birthday, your account will automatically be credited 100 points in celebration of your day.” Every Belkin.com account is already enrolled: “If you already have an account on Belkin.com, you’re already enrolled in Belkin Rewards!”
The 30-Day Rule
This is where people miss out. Belkin says “you must register your birthday at least 30 days prior to your birthday.” If your birthday falls inside that window, “you will receive your birthday bonus 30 days after your registration,” and “This delay is only applicable for the first year that you signed up.” After that, “All successive birthday bonuses will be emailed to you on your birthday.” Register after your birthday has passed this year and the reward waits: “rewards will not be added to your account until the day of your birthday in the following year.”
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback’s Belkin page reads “Get 6% of the price back with our Belkin Cash Back offers,” with one tier listed, “Online Purchase 6%.” Its terms include “Use of a coupon code not displayed on TopCashback” as an exclusion and say “To be eligible for Cash Back on all products, you must begin your purchase with an empty shopping cart.” Price.com says “Earn 1.5% cash back at Belkin” and asks you to click the Cash Back button, then check out with the Visa or Mastercard linked to your account. Fluz returned a not-found page. Rates move, so check the current number before you order.
What Was Actually Checked
Belkin’s rewards FAQ support article, the Rewards page, the Earn Belkin Rewards page and the Rewards FAQ page were all read. The three web pages loaded without readable birthday text in a plain page request, so the amount and the timing rules come from the support article. That article also says “the birthday reward is determined by the Rewards member tier that you are part of on the date of your birthday,” and Belkin offers Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, but no per-tier birthday amount appears anywhere that was read.
Eligibility and Cost
Points are worth 100 to the dollar: “if you spend $150, you’ll earn 150 points = $1.50.” Redeeming takes “a minimum balance of at least 100 points each time you would like to make a redemption,” in increments of 50 ($.50), and points “can only be applied toward the purchase price of the products themselves,” so tax and shipping are out. Points expire after 1 year of inactivity, and Belkin is explicit that “your birthday and anniversary dates won’t re-activate your points.” Only logged-in purchases made after May 1, 2023 earn points.
