Canon has no birthday reward, and its signup forms don’t even ask when your birthday is. The perk that does exist is 10% off a Canon Upgrade Program product after a repair estimate, and it has nothing to do with your birthday. The real saving is cashback: up to 2.5% through TopCashback or up to 1.3% through Price.com.
What Canon Is
Canon’s corporate profile says it was “Founded August 10, 1937,” with headquarters at 3-30-2 Shimomaruko, Ota-ku, Tokyo, and lists Fujio Mitarai as Chairman & CEO. As of December 31, 2025 it reported 165,547 employees, net sales of 4,624,727 million yen and 321 consolidated subsidiaries.
The US arm is Canon U.S.A., Inc. Its corporate page says “The New York branch was established in 1955 and formally incorporated as Canon U.S.A., Inc. in 1965.” It’s based in Melville, New York, led by President and CEO Isao Kobayashi, and serves the United States plus Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback’s Canon page reads “Get up to 2.5% of the price back with our Canon Cash Back offers.” It’s tiered: 2.5% on online purchases and 1.5% on refurbished products, and gift cards and some models are excluded. Price.com says “Earn up to 1.3% cash back at Canon,” with new products at 1.3% and refurbished at 0.8%. Fluz shows only its generic 1.5% store rate. Rates move, so check the current number before you order.
What Was Actually Checked
Canon’s US site refused plain page requests, so the pages were read from archived copies: the email signup (April 15, 2026), the create-account page (September 9, 2026), the privacy policy (September 4, 2026), the deals page (September 10, 2026) and the Upgrade Program rules (June 15, 2026). None of them mention a birthday. The email signup asks for First Name, Last Name and Email Address, plus which kind of email you’d like, consumer product news or pro imaging news. The MyCanon profile form loads through script and couldn’t be read, so whether it asks for a birthday is unknown.
The Nearest Real Perk Isn’t a Birthday One
The Canon Upgrade Program rules say: “10% promo code valid for 14 days from date of repair estimate. Promo code may be used one-time only and can only be applied to one Canon Upgrade Program product.” That’s the only 10% code on the pages read, and it’s tied to a repair estimate. A free standard shipping offer on the same rules page ran May 18 through June 30, 2026, so it has ended.
Eligibility and Cost
Canon’s create-account page offers MyCanon, MyCanon Pro and MyCanon Business logins. Canon’s deals page lists refurbished cameras and lenses, which earn the lower refurbished cashback rate. TopCashback lists gift cards and some models as excluded, so check the exclusions for your exact camera before you count on the full 2.5%.
