You’ve probably seen the phrase “birthday gift” tucked into a furniture retailer’s rewards page and assumed it meant a discount code waiting in your inbox. Sometimes it does. More often in this category, it means something gated behind a specific credit card, or nothing at all once you actually read the terms.

Real, confirmed birthday rewards
IKEA: IKEA Family sends a real “birthday surprise” every year, confirmed directly on IKEA’s own site, though no fixed dollar amount or percentage is ever published.
Wayfair: Wayfair Rewards sends a real birthday offer by email, confirmed directly in the program’s own terms, though it requires a paid or credit-card membership and no fixed dollar amount is ever stated.
Ashley Furniture: a real extra 10% off during your birthday month, confirmed directly on its own Orange Rewards page, though it’s gated on the Ashley Advantage Synchrony credit card, approved at least 2 months ahead.
Three brands share one $25 birthday certificate
Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, and West Elm: all three share the exact same $25 birthday certificate, confirmed directly through the card issuer, but only for holders of The Key Rewards Visa credit card. The program’s free Silver Rewards tier collects your birthday at signup but does not receive this certificate, confirmed directly against the program’s own full terms.
No program, real cashback instead
Crate & Barrel: Rewards Dollars is entirely credit-card-based with no birthday mention. A genuine 6.5% Fluz cashback rate exists instead.
HomeGoods: TJX Rewards, shared with TJ Maxx and Marshalls, has no birthday mention in its terms. A genuine 6% Fluz cashback rate exists instead.
La-Z-Boy: no loyalty or rewards program of any kind exists here, birthday-based or otherwise. A genuine 4% TopCashback rate exists instead.
Nothing at all
Havertys Furniture: its own FAQ states directly that it doesn’t run a coupon or rewards program of any kind. No cashback route exists here either.
