Motorola has no birthday reward. No Motorola-run rewards program turned up, and the rewards address its own store links to returns a 404. Its only “birthday” is a sale celebrating the company’s 98th anniversary. A real 2% cashback rate through TopCashback is the route that pays.
What Motorola Is
Motorola’s own About page says “Since 1928, we’ve been driven to move the industry forward.” Today its phones are made by Motorola Mobility LLC, which its site describes as “a wholly owned subsidiary of Lenovo.” Google’s own announcement says “We acquired Motorola in 2012,” and on January 29, 2014 it announced the sale to Lenovo for $2.91 billion. Lenovo completed the acquisition on October 30, 2014, with Motorola’s headquarters remaining in Chicago.
The store sells Motorola smartphones and accessories and runs a trade-in program under the banner “Trade in. Trade up.”
What Was Actually Checked
Motorola’s homepage, About page, terms of sale, military discount page and account page were read. The homepage links to a rewards page and a rewards terms page, and both return a 404, as do the store’s universe terms and a string of guessed perks, loyalty and newsletter addresses. The store’s template text refers to “My Lenovo Rewards,” but Lenovo’s own rewards page never mentions Motorola, so no Motorola rewards program is claimed here.
Motorola’s account profile has a “Date Of Birth” field. Nothing found attaches a reward to it. The homepage newsletter signup says only that it sends “product information and special promotional offers,” with no welcome offer and no birthday text.
An Anniversary Sale, Not a Birthday Gift
Motorola’s specials page is titled “MOTO ANNIVERSARY SALE” and reads “Celebrate 98 years of Moto with FREE moto things with select smartphones.” That’s the company’s birthday, and it applies to everyone who buys during the promotion. Your own birthday doesn’t come into it.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback’s Motorola page reads “Get 2% of the price back with our Motorola Cash Back offers,” for online purchases, excluding orders shipped outside the US and some accessories. Price.com lists 1% at Motorola Mobility. Fluz shows only its generic 1.5% store rate, which isn’t a Motorola-specific offer. Rates move, so check before you buy.
Eligibility and Cost
Motorola’s terms of sale set 14-day returns on devices, with all in-warranty smartphones and watches refundable within 14 days of delivery. Other products can be returned within 30 days, and standard shipping is free over $75 before tax. Military members get a sitewide 10% discount, verified through ID.me.
