Samsung Electronics was founded in 1969 and makes phones, tablets, TVs, appliances and more. In the US, its rewards program is sponsored by Samsung Electronics America, Inc., at 700 Sylvan Ave in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
Samsung Rewards has four levels: Silver (free), Gold ($500), Platinum and VIP Advantage ($149.99 a year). A dollar earns 1, 2, 3 or 6 points depending on the level. Points post 15 to 45 days after purchase, count only on Samsung.com and the Shop Samsung app, and expire “at the end of the calendar month one year after they are earned.”
What Was Actually Checked
The US Samsung Rewards page, the VIP Advantage page, the binding rewards terms and the offer-program page were read, and none mention a birthday. The US birthday offer addresses, samsung.com/us/offer/birthday-offer/ and /birthday/, both return a 404. Samsung’s US support page confirms your profile has a birth date field, but nothing rewards you for filling it in.
Samsung’s own pages also disagree with each other. The tier table says Platinum is “Spend $1,000,” while the FAQ and the VIP Advantage page say $1,500. The binding terms are dated February 25, 2019. That doesn’t change the birthday answer, but it’s worth knowing before you count on any number in the program.
Birthday Vouchers Samsung Offers Elsewhere
These come from Samsung-owned pages and don’t apply to US accounts.
Saudi Arabia and the Levant: the birthday voucher code arrives in your registered email and takes an additional 5% off Samsung products. The Levant page adds that the code is valid until the end of the month. Pakistan’s page offers PKR 5,000 off Samsung smartphones, and its terms PDF describes a single-use voucher emailed in the birthday month and valid for 30 days, with an offer period that ran through the end of 2024, so its current status is unclear. Malaysia’s rewards page lists a birthday voucher of RM100, RM200 or RM400 by tier, with minimum spend rules of RM1,500, RM2,000 and RM3,000 in its own terms, which give a promotion period of 1 November 2023 to 31 December 2024. The main Malaysia rewards terms never mention the voucher. Argentina ran a one-off BIRTHDAY10 code for November birthdays, and South Africa’s birthday page now redirects to a generic offers page. A 15% UK and Europe birthday code is described only in Samsung community forum threads, which couldn’t be read, so it isn’t counted.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback pays a real 2% on Samsung online purchases, and it excludes home audio and soundbars along with warranty, insurance and installation. Price.com lists the same 2% and excludes business purchases, gift cards and memory products. Fluz shows only its generic 1.5% store rate, which isn’t a Samsung-specific offer. Rates move, so confirm before you buy.
