What Was Actually Checked
AT&T’s Guarantee page, its wireless plans page, the press release announcing the guarantee and its support pages were read. None of them carry a benefit tied to a customer’s birthday. Two pages do use the word, and both are traps.
The first is the AT&T Brand Shop, a separate merchandise store, which ran “Celebrate SCFW + Brand Shop’s birthday with 30% off sitewide + Free shipping No minimum.” That’s a sale for the shop’s own anniversary. It isn’t tied to your account or your date of birth. The second is a company blog post titled “Happy Birthday to Us: AT&T Celebrates 147 Years,” dated March 7, 2023. It marks the company’s anniversary and offers customers nothing.
AT&T’s old Thanks address now lands on its general support page, and the AT&T Community Forums have closed, so there’s no staff post to search either. AT&T’s create-an-account flow, read in a browser, first asks which service you want to register, then asks for an AT&T phone number or account number and a billing ZIP code. There’s no birthday field.
A Circulating Claim Doesn’t Check Out
The claim of a “$10 birthday discount” at AT&T doesn’t hold up. Nothing on AT&T’s own pages mentions it, and the only birthday wording there is the pair of anniversary items above, so it isn’t treated as real here.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
