Wikipedia’s Philips Hue article says Hue launched in October 2012 through the Apple Store. Its Signify article says Philips Lighting renamed itself Signify in 2018 and is headquartered in Eindhoven. Hue’s own about page opens its history with “Since 1891.”
How To Get The Philips Hue Birthday Deal
Hue’s birthday page is titled “Update your account and get a birthday treat | Philips Hue,” and its description reads: “Want a birthday treat? Share your birthday with us, so we can send you something special on your big day.” Open the page below and share your birthday. The conditions Hue states are short: “This campaign is limited to one promotion per year. If your birthday is today, you may not receive the email as processing times vary.” It also says “You can edit your birthday in the future by coming back to this page via the link in the original email.”
What Hue Doesn’t Say
No page read names the treat. The birthday page, its confirmation page, the US terms and conditions and the privacy notice all leave out the value, the type (code, gift or discount) and the expiry. They also don’t say how far ahead of your birthday to sign up, whether a purchase is needed, or how long the treat lasts. The privacy notice mentions date of birth only in connection with competitions. If you sign up, go in knowing the treat is a surprise.

The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback’s Philips Hue page reads “Get 5% of the price back with our Philips Hue Cash Back offers,” with one tier listed, “Online Purchase 5%.” Price.com says “Earn 3% cash back at Philips Hue,” with a maximum of $15 per order. Fluz doesn’t list Philips Hue. Rates move, so check the current number before you order.
What Was Actually Checked
The birthday page, its confirmation page, the promotions page, the US terms and conditions, the privacy notice and the about page were read. The confirmation page says only “Thank you!” The terms say “This registration is free of charge” about registering as a contributor, which isn’t the birthday page.
Eligibility and Cost
The newsletter offer is a separate flow. Hue’s promotions page says “Sign up for 15% off today, plus access to upcoming seasonal sales” and “Sign up to the Philips Hue newsletter and receive a 15% welcome coupon code for the Hue Shop.” The fine print says “You should receive your code within 1 hour after your subscription, but processing time may vary. This promotion is not valid on email addresses that are already enrolled in the Philips Hue newsletter.” That’s a signup offer, not a birthday one.
