iRobot has no birthday reward. What it has is 10% off a first purchase for new email subscribers, a military discount of up to 15%, and real cashback: up to 8% through TopCashback or up to 2% through Price.com.
What iRobot Is
iRobot’s about page, read from an archived copy dated May 27, 2024, says “iRobot was founded in 1990 by Massachusetts Institute of Technology roboticists with the vision of making practical robots a reality.” The terms name “iRobot Corporation 8 Crosby Drive, Bedford, MA 01730” as the company address.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
TopCashback’s iRobot page reads “Get up to 8% of the price back with our iRobot Cash Back offers,” with two tiers listed: “Robots 8%” and “Accessories 4%.” Price.com says “Earn up to 2% cash back at iRobot,” with Robot at 2%, Accessories at 1% and All Other Purchases at 1%, and protection plans and extended warranties excluded. Fluz lists iRobot at “1.5% cashback,” its generic baseline. Rates move, so check the current number before you order.
What Was Actually Checked
iRobot’s home page, terms and conditions, privacy policy, login page, referral page and its ID.me military discount page were read. The home page has no mention of a birthday. The privacy policy lists the data it collects as “name, email address, username and password, shipping address, billing information, and phone number,” with no birthday. The email form on the login page has one field. The Create account form isn’t in the page text, so its fields weren’t seen. The Refer and Earn amounts on the referral page load through script and weren’t readable.
The Discounts iRobot Does Describe
The home page says “New customers save 10% on their first purchase when they sign up for email” and “Offer valid for new email subscribers only and good for one-time use. Discounts apply to list price only and cannot be combined with other sales or promotions.” The military page says “Military members, veterans and their families can receive up to 15% off select robots, plus free shipping on all robot orders!” The footer also links to First Responders and Nurses discount pages, a Protection Plan, Refer & Earn and a Trade In Program, and those pages weren’t read.
Eligibility and Cost
The home page offers financing through Affirm, with “Rates are between 0%-36% APR.” On the day this was checked, a banner on the home page said “We are temporarily unable to ship orders to PO BOX, APO/FPO, and certain US territories due to recent changes by our shipping provider services.” If you’re shopping with the military discount and ship to an APO address, check that banner first.
