Shopbop’s loyalty page says “you’ll receive a birthday discount of 10% (Silver), 15% (Gold), or 20% (Platinum),” and members at the Bronze level get nothing. The program is free, but Silver starts at $300 of spending, so the birthday discount belongs to people who already shop there.
What Shopbop Is
Shopbop’s About page calls it “a global online retail destination for style inspiration and discovery since 1999.” Wikipedia adds that “Shopbop was acquired by Amazon.com in February 2006.” The birthday discount comes from its own program, Yours Truly Shopbop Rewards.
How To Get The Shopbop Birthday Deal
Create a Shopbop account, then join Yours Truly Shopbop Rewards. The page says “The program is totally free to join” with “no minimum spend required,” and it asks for one thing early: “Make sure you sign up for loyalty at least a month before your birthday in order to get your special discount.” Join less than a month out and “you will have to wait until next year.” The join form has a birthday field labeled “(Optional),” next to the line “Enter your birthday for a discount on your big day.” Fill it in, or the discount has nothing to attach to.
What Each Level Gets
The tier table sets Bronze at under $300, Silver at “$300-$1k,” Gold at “$1k-$5k” and Platinum at “$5k+.” The page counts your spending “from December 1 of the previous year to 30 days before today,” and it leaves out returns, gift certificates, duties, taxes, gift wrapping and shipping fees. On a $400 order, 10% takes $40 off, 15% takes $60 off and 20% takes $80 off. Someone who has spent $350 since last December lands at Silver, and $1,200 lands at Gold.
What The Birthday Terms Say
The email tells you your percentage: “You will receive an e-mail from Shopbop that indicates the percentage discount.” The discount ends with your birth month, since “Offer expires on the last day of your birth month.” The terms also say “Offer only applies to full-priced products sold on Shopbop.com,” “Offer limited to one per customer and account,” and “Offer may not be combined with other offers.” Beauty is out entirely: “All Beauty products are excluded from the offer.” So are 27 brands, among them Gucci, Prada, Canada Goose, Golden Goose, Isabel Marant, Reformation and SPANX.
What The Old Post Claimed
An earlier version of this post said to join the mailing list, create an account and “automatically” save up to 15% on everything in your cart. The birthday discount needs a loyalty membership, not a mailing list, and it arrives as an email. The 15% matches a different offer: the subscribe page says “Want 15% Off Your First Order?” and the app page offers “15% Off Full Price App Offer,” a first-order deal that isn’t tied to your birthday.
What Was Actually Checked
Shopbop’s loyalty page, join page, birthday terms, subscribe page, app offer page and About page were read on 2026-10-12. The pages name no country for the birthday discount, and the birthday terms carry no date. The loyalty FAQ’s examples use dates from 2017 to 2019.
Eligibility and Cost
The program is free. The terms say “you must have a Shopbop account, and only one account may be associated with your Program participation.” Silver, Gold and Platinum members are the only ones who get the birthday discount.
