SimpliSafe has no birthday reward. Its rewards-style program is a referral one that pays a $200 Visa gift card to the person who refers. The one cashback route is a flat $8.50 per order through Price.com.
What SimpliSafe Is
SimpliSafe’s privacy page says “SimpliSafe was founded to help make your home and your life more secure. Twenty years later, that’s still what we do.” Its referral landing page says “more than 6 million people trust our system” and lists “60 Day Money-Back Guarantee // Free Shipping // Free Returns” in its header. Wikipedia’s SimpliSafe article gives the headquarters as 100 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate
Price.com’s SimpliSafe page reads “Earn $8.50 cash back at SimpliSafe,” with a maximum of $15 per order. It’s a flat amount and not a percentage, so it means more on a small order than a large one. TopCashback’s SimpliSafe addresses returned not-found pages, and Fluz lists SimpliSafe at “1.5% cashback,” its generic baseline. Rates move, so check the current number before you order.
What Was Actually Checked
SimpliSafe’s terms of use, privacy policy, account creation help article, referral program article, monitoring plans page and referral landing page were read. None has a birthday reward, and the privacy policy has no mention of the word “birth.” Account creation asks only for an email address and a password. The military discount address returned a not-found page.
The Referral Program
SimpliSafe’s referral article says: “When you refer a friend to SimpliSafe, they’ll get 50% off a new system plus a FREE Video Doorbell Pro, and you’ll be rewarded with a $200 Visa gift card.” It adds “If your friend uses your discount code to complete a purchase, you will receive an email 60 days later with instructions on how to claim your Visa gift card.” It has nothing to do with your birthday, and it works only if someone you know is buying a system.
Eligibility and Cost
The plans page lists Core at $1.10 a day, Pro at $1.66 a day and Pro Plus at $2.66 a day, each “Free trial. No contract. Cancel any time.” For Pro and Pro Plus it says “Plus, get up to $500 toward your insurance deductible if a break-in occurs while your system was armed with Anti-Theft Guarantee.” The referral page says “Your first month of professional monitoring is free” and “No contracts. No cancellation fees. No kidding.” A support article titled “How to Take Advantage of the 10% Discount Included in Select Monitoring Plans” exists, and its body wasn’t read.
