Cricket Wireless, AT&T, the Globe, and other marks are trademarks of AT&T Intellectual Property.” The plans named on its home page are Sensible 10GB, Select Unlimited, Smart Unlimited and Supreme Unlimited, and its why-Cricket page says “5G on All Plans.”
Cricket’s multiline page shows Supreme Unlimited at $55 a month total for the first line with Auto Pay, and $160 total for five lines. Smart Unlimited is $45 for the first line. A footnote adds that for a single Supreme Unlimited line you pay $60 at the point of sale, and the $5 monthly credit requires Auto Pay. Cricket also offers a 14-day free trial: “With our 14-day free trial, you can test Cricket’s nationwide network,” and the trial includes 5G, unlimited talk and text and 3 GB of data.
What Was Actually Checked
Cricket’s discounts and savings pages, including refer a friend, Auto Pay credit and multiline discounts, were read, along with its account credit page, why-Cricket page, free trial page, manage-account page and referral terms. Its main terms page, about 138,000 characters, was read in full. None of them contain birthday text. Cricket’s privacy page is the one place the word appears, and it lists “Age, age range, date of birth, gender, preferred language, marital status” among the information Cricket collects. That’s data collection, not a reward.
The Rewards Program That Ended
Cricket used to have a points program. An archived copy of its rewards page from February 2018 reads “Effective Nov. 28, 2017, Cricket Rewards is no longer available to new Rewards participants, except for potential customers referred to Cricket as part of the Refer a Friend program,” and “Participants can redeem rewards up to Feb. 26, 2018, when the Rewards program will be terminated.” The page carried no birthday text in what was read. Cricket’s old rewards address now redirects to an iPhone deals page.
Cricket’s site also links a Bank Rewards page, and that one says “Bank Rewards are not issued by Cricket Wireless.” It’s a card-linked program run by someone else, so it isn’t a Cricket perk either.
The Real Route: A Genuine Cashback Rate (Flat $10)
TopCashback’s Cricket page reads “Get $10 of the price back with our Cricket Wireless Cash Back offers,” with a single tier called New Line Activation. The only exclusion is coupon codes not displayed on TopCashback. Price.com says “Earn $9 cash back at Cricket Wireless” and adds that cash back is only available on new connection plans and isn’t available on accessories or plan upgrades. Fluz shows only its general 1.5% store rate. Both real offers are flat dollar amounts for a new line, not percentages. Rates move, so check before you order.
Eligibility and Cost
The cashback needs a brand-new line, so it does nothing for an existing customer upgrading a phone. Cricket’s own credits work differently: its refer-a-friend page says you can earn up to $250 a year in account credits with 10 referrals per calendar year, and that you and your friend each get $25 after 60 days of active service. Account credits only expire when Cricket service is canceled. Cricket’s Auto Pay credit is $5 a month, up to $60 a year, and it isn’t available on multi-month plans.
