Tokyo Disney Resort gives a birthday sticker with your name and a message on it, and you get it by telling a Cast Member it’s your birthday. That’s an official offer on the resort’s own help pages, and it’s a sticker, not a discount. It applies to the parks in Chiba, Japan, which a separate company runs, not the American Disney parks.
What Tokyo Disney Resort Is
Tokyo Disney Resort is two parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, in Urayasu, Chiba, just east of Tokyo. Wikipedia says the resort is owned and operated by the Oriental Land Company under a license from The Walt Disney Company, and that Oriental Land has no capital relationship with Disney. That’s why the birthday rules here don’t match what Disneyland or Disney World publish.
How To Get The Tokyo Disney Birthday Deal
The resort’s FAQ answers the question directly: “Please inform a Cast Member at any of the following facilities that it is your birthday or that you are visiting the Park to celebrate or commemorate a special occasion.” Then comes the reward: “You will receive a Birthday Sticker or a celebration sticker with your name and message.” The places listed are Main Street House at Tokyo Disneyland, Guest Relations at Tokyo DisneySea, the Disney Hotels and the Disney Resort Line. The page adds that “Even at facilities other than those mentioned above, please contact a Cast Member at the Parks to receive the sticker.”
You Don’t Have To Visit On The Day
A second FAQ answer, about special arrangements for a birthday or an anniversary, loosens the timing: “We will celebrate your birthday or anniversary even if you don’t visit the park on the actual day.” For a trip that lands a week after your birthday, that matters. The same page repeats the sticker rule: “A commemorative sticker will be given to guests at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea to express congratulations on their special celebration or anniversary.” The page’s update date reads 2026/07/09.
The Cake Topper At Restaurants
If you eat at one of the listed restaurants, tell the staff when you order. The FAQ says “we’ll top it off with a decoration called a ‘celebration pick’ or ‘birthday pick,’ which is shaped like a small, simple cake topper.” Two limits follow right under it: “Engraving names or other text on it is not available” and “It is not edible.” The page lists eight Tokyo Disneyland restaurants, among them Blue Bayou Restaurant and The Diamond Horseshoe, and seven Tokyo DisneySea restaurants, including Cafe Portofino and Magellan’s. The page doesn’t say the restaurant adds any charge for the pick, and it doesn’t say it’s free either.
Birthday Items For Sale
The same FAQ says “Original birthday items are available for purchase at some shops.” Those cost money, and the page names neither the items nor the prices.
What The Old Post Claimed
An earlier version of this post said the sticker comes from a merchandise location and that characters go out of their way to wish you a happy birthday. The FAQ names Main Street House, Guest Relations, the Disney Hotels and the Disney Resort Line, or any Cast Member in the parks, and it doesn’t say anything about characters. The sticker is real, and the rest isn’t on the page.
What Was Actually Checked
Two official FAQ answers, the resort’s home page and Wikipedia’s articles on the resort and on the Oriental Land Company were read on 2026-10-07. The FAQ answers loaded through both WebFetch and a plain page fetch. The resort’s home page timed out on a plain fetch and on WebFetch, and it loaded in headless Chrome, so that was a timeout and not a refusal. No official page read uses the word “free” for the sticker, and none says whether a proof of birthday is needed.
Eligibility and Cost
The sticker needs you to be at one of the Tokyo parks, hotels or on the Resort Line, so it costs whatever the trip costs. The FAQ doesn’t mention a membership, an age limit or a ticket type, so the only step it states is asking a Cast Member. The offer is for the Japanese resort only, and nothing on the pages read extends it to any other country.
