A birthday is a fine excuse to finally buy the laptop or the gaming PC, and a brand that tips the scale would help. Eight makers were checked against their own pages and terms. On US pages, only Microsoft puts a birthday reward in writing, and it’s double points on games and add-ons, not money off a Surface. Razer, Lenovo, Sony and ASUS each hint at a birthday perk without saying what it is.

The one reward that’s written down
Microsoft: Microsoft Rewards members get 2x points on eligible games and add-ons bought from the Store during their Monday-to-Sunday birthday week, and the wording is on Microsoft’s own Xbox support page. The points land the week after, and nothing in the wording covers Surface hardware, Windows PCs or Microsoft 365. The same gift shows up on the console side at Xbox.
Birthday hints with nothing named
Razer: its own page promises a birthday “surprise treat” and never says what it is. Customers on Razer’s community forum report emailed promo codes that vary by country and come with a minimum spend. A 2% Price.com rate is the only confirmed money back.
Lenovo: US pages promise “extra rewards on your birthday” and never say how much. The UK and Singapore sites spell the perk out as double Rewards points, but no US page that could be read does. The rate you can count on is up to 4% through TopCashback.
Sony: its terms mention “a complimentary birthday gift” once, as an example, with no value, date or name attached. The saving you can count on is 3% cashback through TopCashback.
ASUS: no ASUS page mentions a birthday benefit, but the code behind its ROG Elite gaming rewards page has a “Birthday gift dialog” for members in their birth month. Nothing a reader can see says what the gift is. The real saving is 1% cashback, through TopCashback or Price.com.
No birthday reward, cashback instead
Dell: Dell Rewards pays on what you spend, and its full terms never mention a birthday. The one real money-back rate is a 5% TopCashback listing under the name Dell Refurbished, and it doesn’t say which Dell store it tracks, so treat it as refurbished-only.
HP: HP Rewards covers select categories and its full terms never mention a birthday. The one birthday item in HP’s store is a gift card design. Real money back is 4% through Price.com or 2% through TopCashback.
Acer: Acer’s US store has no rewards or loyalty program, and its account form has no birthday field. A real 4% TopCashback rate is the route that pays.
