Hollister lists a “Special Birthday Gift” among the perks of its free House Rewards program, but the terms don’t say what the gift is. There’s no amount, percentage or code in writing. What the terms do say is who’s eligible and one waiting-period rule, and that’s what this post covers.
What Hollister Is
Wikipedia says “Hollister Co., often advertised as Hollister or HCo., is a retail brand owned by Abercrombie & Fitch Co, selling apparel, accessories, and fragrances.” The loyalty terms apply more widely than the name suggests: “These Terms apply to all brands owned by Hollister Co., including Gilly Hicks.”
How To Get The Hollister Birthday Deal
If you have an online account, you may already be a member: “individuals who have an active online account with Hollister are already Members in House Rewards.” The program “is currently available to residents of the United States age fourteen (14) and older.” Make sure your birthday is on the account, then keep the 30-day rule below in mind.
What The Terms Say About Birthdays
The perks list reads “Special Birthday Gift,” then “Exclusive access to Member-only discounts and rewards,” then “Early access to promotions and new product.” That’s the full description of the gift. The terms never name a dollar value, a percent, a code, a window for using it or how it’s delivered. The waiting-period paragraph calls it a “Special Birthday Perk” rather than a gift, so the two names refer to one benefit.
The 30-Day Waiting Period
The terms say “Special Birthday Perks cannot be earned until your Hollister House Rewards account has been open for at least 30 days. If a new Member’s birthday falls during the 30-day waiting period, they will not receive a Special Birthday Perk for that calendar year. Members who have existing accounts, or new Members whose birthday falls outside the 30-day waiting period will receive their Special Birthday Perk.” The 30 days is about how old your account is. It isn’t a window after your birthday.
Where Rewards Work
The terms say “Rewards are valid only in the U.S. in stores and online.” The same terms set a spend level for the top tier: “House Rewards Members will qualify for Gold Status when they spend $300 in a calendar year.” The terms list no birthday difference for Gold, so don’t count on a bigger gift.
What Used To Be Said Here
An earlier version of this post claimed a 25% off coupon, good at any purchase, and a single account covering both Hollister and Abercrombie. None of that appears in the current terms. Hollister’s program is separate from myAbercrombie, and the only 30-day figure in the terms is the account-age wait, not a validity period.
What Was Actually Checked
The House Rewards terms (marked “Updated: April 2026”) and Wikipedia were read on 2026-10-06. A plain page fetch of hollisterco.com returned a challenge page, so the terms were read through headless Chrome. A summary of the brand’s own rewards page mentioned member discounts and bonus points in the birthday month, but that came from a paraphrase and isn’t in the terms, so it isn’t treated as confirmed here.
Eligibility and Cost
Membership is free for US residents 14 and older with an online account. The birthday perk needs an account that’s been open at least 30 days before your birthday.
